Chris Rock had some interesting words for Amber Heard on Thursday. C hris Rock is currently in the middle of his 'Ego Death Tour' and he just made it to Europe, where he presented his comedy special at the Royal Albert Hall theatre in London. This is a massive venue that all the greatest artists tend to get excited about, he truly killed it with his set. During a segment in which he spoke about cancel culture, he specifically spoke about the new set of rules when engaging women whilst attempting to have sex with them.

Fans Want 'Justice For Johnny Depp' After Amber Heard 'Hitting' Audio

The Amber Heard–Johnny Depp Trial Is Not a Joke - The Atlantic
Grow the fuck up Johnny… I did not hurt you, I did not punch you, I was hitting you. At first my sympathies were with Amber. Surely a slap, under provocative circumstances, is OK? The TV of my youth was full of ladies with shoulder pads slapping men. Barely a week went by on Dynasty without Joan Collins, as Alexis Carrington, clipping some cowering chap. Very satisfying it was too.

The Amber Heard-Johnny Depp trial was an orgy of misogyny
Well, you know what they say: you either die a hero, or you live long enough to see sexual assault and domestic abuse being mocked on TikTok. Across every social media feed, the trial is being portrayed as a contemporary retelling of the biblical trials of Job. In this scenario, Johnny is a blameless and righteous man. Johnny lost all his money, his mother died, and he suffered great physical agony.

The ongoing Johnny Depp v Amber Heard defamation case has spawned endless headlines, comments and tweets, with some dubbing it the ' OJ Simpson trial of our generation'. It certainly has similar levels of public interest and can't-look-away-from-the-car-crash allure. To say it's morphed from what ought to be a sensitive case, given it is centred on serious accusations of violence and abuse , into somewhat of a circus complete with vaping witnesses and seemingly 'meme-able' moments would be an understatement. And while yes, the case is predominantly about just two people, Depp and Heard, the ripple effect of the issues being placed under a magnifying glass will impact millions.
