Locals can celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with about 10 dance, poetry and musical performances by local and international artists Friday at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center. Friday's event in Oxnard will kick off with an opening blessing, followed by a sound bath. The meditative experience will surround attendees with the ringing of gongs, chimes and other musical instruments. The string of performances will be headlined by Kenny Endo — renowned taiko drummer, composer and teacher — and his ensemble.
