Why are gays flocking to this small Georgia town to vacation?
BY Malika Harricharan. Just because you are under 21, doesn't mean there aren't lots of places in the ATL to have some fun and get your groove on. In and around the Atlanta area are fun spots to gather with your gang of pals or linger and meet new friends for a fun evening out. If you are not enamored with the clubbing and dance scene, check out some of the live music venues that are available in Atlanta.
The mountain town of Blue Ridge, Georgia, has beautiful mountain vistas, festivals aplenty and some of the coziest bed and breakfasts one can find. The cherry on top for some travelers: its welcoming gay community. The surrounding Fannin County has the fourth highest concentration of same-sex couples, while neighboring Gilmer County has the state's fifth highest, according to the California-based think tank. This puts the Blue Ridge-area in the top 2 percent of counties in Georgia and in the top 10 percent in the nation.
