Killings, rapes, arbitrary arrests, and mass arson of homes by Burmese security forces in hundreds of predominantly Rohingya villages have forced more than , Rohingya to flee to neighboring Bangladesh. Rohingya women, men, and children have arrived in Bangladesh in desperate condition—hungry, exhausted, and sometimes with rape, bullet, or burn injuries. The government reported that 11 security force personnel were killed. While the government had a duty to respond to the attacks, the Burmese military, supported by Border Police and armed ethnic Rakhine villagers, not only pursued those responsible, but immediately launched large-scale attacks against scores of Rohingya villages under the guise of counter-insurgency operations. This report is based on 52 interviews with Rohingya women and girls, including 29 survivors of rape, who fled to Bangladesh since these operations began. They described similarly brutal circumstances of the rapes.

Burma: Widespread Rape of Rohingya Women, Girls | Human Rights Watch
Human Rights Watch has accused Myanmar security forces of a systematic campaign of sex crimes - including the rape of women and girls - against Rohingya Muslims in the country's Rakhine State. Some women described seeing their young children, husbands and parents being murdered before being beaten and raped, according to a report by the group. The allegation follows interviews with 52 Rohingya women and girls from 19 villages who have fled to Bangladesh. Twenty-nine of them said they had been raped, and all but one of the sex attacks were gang rapes. Hala Sadak, a year-old from Hathi Para village in Maungdaw Township, described being stripped naked by 10 soldiers who went on to rape her.
‘All of My Body Was Pain’; Sexual Against Women and Girls in Burma

Fatama Begum, from the village of Chut Pyin, was stabbed and raped by five men. Moments before, they shot and killed her brother. A day later, they returned to burn down her village. Rabia Abdul, pregnant, was raped by at least four men, which caused her to fall unconscious and later miscarry her unborn child.
Women and girls as young as 13 have been raped and sexually assaulted by soldiers and police officers in Burma , according to an alarming report. In the latest development on alleged attacks on the Rohingya minority in the country, Human Rights Watch has warned that members of the army and border guard police took part in rape, gang rape, invasive body searches and sexual assaults against women and girls in at least nine villages in the Rohingya-dominated Maungdaw district in the final months of last year. Many survivors reported being insulted and threatened on an ethnic or religious basis during the assaults. It comes three days after a flash report released by the United Nations Office of the High Commission for Human Rights OHCHR gave chilling accounts of Rohingya babies and children being slaughtered with knives while their mothers were raped.
